■企画趣旨：

Navigating Academic Journal Publishing: An Editor’s Perspective

　What happens to your manuscript after you click “submit”—and what can you do before and after submission to improve its chances? This workshop offers a practical, editor’s-eye view of the academic journal publishing process, from choosing the right journal and preparing your manuscript to navigating peer review, responding to editorial decisions, and revising your paper. Drawing on the experience of Professor Keren Tenenboim-Weinblatt, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Communication, we will discuss what editors look for, how editorial decisions are made, how to approach reviewer comments and rejection, and what authors can do to make the publication process more effective and less daunting. The session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and discuss participants’ own publishing challenges.           The Journal of Communication is the flagship journal of the International Communication Association.

　国際ジャーナルへの論文投稿はますます盛んになっています。採択の可能性を高めるために、投稿前・投稿後に著者ができることは何でしょうか。本ワークショップでは、投稿先ジャーナルの選び方や投稿原稿の準備から、査読プロセス、編集上の判断、査読コメントへの対応、リジェクト後の対応、論文の改稿まで、学術ジャーナルへの論文投稿・出版のプロセスを、国際コミュニケーション学会（ICA）の学会誌Journal of Communication の編集長の視点から実践的に解説します。ジャーナルの編集者は何を見ているのか、どのように掲載可否の判断がなされるのか、査読コメントやリジェクトにどう向き合えばよいのかなど、投稿する側からは見えにくいプロセスについて、編集経験をもとに紹介していただきます。参加者自身が抱えている論文投稿・出版に関する疑問や悩みについて質問・相談できる時間も設けます。

Speaker：Professor Keren Tenenboim-Weinblatt

Keren Tenenboim-Weinblatt is Professor of Communication at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and outgoing Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Communication. She is a Fellow of the International Communication Association and a former Chair of its Journalism Studies Division. Her research focuses on journalism and political communication.
