■企画趣旨：
本研究会は、ジャニーズ性加害問題におけるメディアの責任について検討し、議論することを目的とする。ジャーナリストのモビーン・アザー氏を迎え、日本のメディアの対応や報道姿勢、今後の改善点などについて聞く。
まず、BBCドキュメンタリーの制作過程及びその後の反応にみえる日本のジャーナリズムやメディア業界における「人権意識」のあり方を検討する。ジャーナリズムが「性暴力」などの人権被害問題をどのように扱ってきたのかは、その社会の人権感覚の構成要因となる。海外ジャーナリストの経験や観点から、日本のジャーナリズムやメディアにおける改善点を探る。
次に、主要メディアが性加害を認定する裁判所の判決（2003年）をほとんど報じず、性加害を持続できるよう手を貸してきた原因や背景を探る。日本のジャーナリズムが「発表ジャーナリズム」とも批判されるのは、政府機関、検察、警察の動きを基準にニュース価値を判断し、権威のあるソースに頼ってきたという問題意識からであろう。また、ジャーナリズムという理念よりメディア企業の営業本位の姿勢が中心にあるとも批判される。そこで、ジャニーズ性加害問題においてはどうだったのかを検討し、再発防止のための課題を確認する。
最後に、ジャニーズ性加害問題に関するメディアの責任はどのように果されるべきか検討する。事務所の記者会見が毎回中継されるなど、メディアの熱い関心が注がれるなか、それを報じることだけでメディアの責任が果たされたとは言えない。海外ジャーナリストの経験や観点を踏まえながら、いまメディアが果たすべき役割を確認する。
以上の点について、実務的、学術的な見地から、フロアを交えて議論を行う。言語は英語と日本語を併用する。

■Objective of the Seminar:
This seminar aims to investigate and discuss the responsibility of the media concerning the sexual assault issue at Johnny’s & Associates. We will host journalist Mobeen Azhar to understand the stance, responses, and areas of improvement for the Japanese media.
Initially, we will assess the state of human rights awareness within Japanese journalism and the media industry, as evident in the production process and subsequent reactions to the BBC documentary. Further, we will delve into why major media outlets scarcely reported on the court’s decision (2003) confirming sexual misconduct, thereby indirectly aiding its perpetuation. Within this context, we will discuss how the Johnny’s sexual abuse issue was addressed, identifying measures for its prevention.
Lastly, we will look at how media responsibility concerning the Johnny’s sexual abuse issue should be executed. While press conferences by the agency are regularly broadcasted, garnering intense media attention, merely reporting on them doesn’t equate to fulfilling media responsibility. These discussions will incorporate both practical and academic perspectives and involve participation from the floor. Both English and Japanese will be used for discussion.
